Michele Ciribifera

Sculpture

Michele Ciribifera, born in Perugia in 1969, and graduated in Sculpture with Edgardo Abbozzo, at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Perugia in 1991. In the following years he attended the studios of various artists.

In 1993 he won the first prize at the sculpture symposium in S. Elena (CA), and in 1997 he exhibited on the first solo show in Sansepolcro (AR), a series of sculptures in which are present the structural tensions of elements directly drawn from natural context. He searches in them those invisible forces through which life is shaped.

Ciribifera’s work represents the pure talent, not yet contaminated, the pure passion in making art, his loyal personal search for a contact between nature and art. Life and experiences become form and form becomes art. Imaginary spaces lead us to uncontrolled lines of force and tension.

The viewer is invited to enter the sculptures, where possible, to feel welcomed by forms that seem organic; his structures seem to be able to project ourselves into new space dimensions, in parallel realities. In his research, the artist moves his eyes in an almost scientific way: he analyzes, dissects, and multiplies using many materials, from wood to iron, in a game of perpetual conflict between nature and artifice.

In the match between reality and illusion, the sculptures of Michele Ciribifera define the mysterious interaction between energy and matter.
